What's in your table salt?

Table salt - it seems pretty obvious to me that table salt should be just that: NaCl = salt, right? Sea salt is obtained from evaporated sea water, containing also various trace minerals. Regular table salt is more processed as it is mined, cleaned of minerals and required anti-caking agents.

Key points of this video:

  • Common table salt can contain more than just salt.

  • It can be processed and contain trace ingredients of anti-caking agents; small amounts of which are safe for human consumption

  • Natural salts can have different minerals and flavors; for example sea salt from France or Himalayan Salt.

  • Next time you go shopping for salt, compare labels. See which kind of salt feels right to you.
