Is meditation right for me?

A meditation practice can - for some people (maybe a lot) - be a bit like a chore. Isn’t it difficult sometimes to empty your mind,  and sit still while you’re thinking about your to-do-lists? It seems like one more thing that you “should” do. I think it’s important to be gentle with ourselves. I invite you to recognize that meditation doesn’t have to be sitting in a lotus pose and following a certain protocol.

Key points of this video:

  • Meditation can feel like a chore, and that’s OK!

  • Notice how  doing your meditation or not doing it the way you should makes you feel.

  • Acknowledge that you don’t have to follow a strict protocol or rules to do meditation.

  • Give yourself the gift to spend some in your favorite spot in your house or garden; with or without “doing meditation’.

  • Give yourself the gift of some time doing a hobby that you love or other activities that bring you joy.

Whether you call it meditation or not, give yourself the gift of some time doing a hobby that you love or other activities that bring you joy.
